Ouch. This is, sadly, par for the course in the States, and it's all too attractive to bottom-line-obsessed executives with no stake or incentive in the lives of the workers beneath them. It doesn't help either that H-1B's are hurting natural born citizens' ability to get employed, even with a decent skill set.
