- smegsicle 2y agoyou're terribly misquoting- altman heard that the voice they were working with happened to sound like johannson, so he tried to extend an agreement out of good faith. if she didn't want to accept credit for just happening to sound like the scientifically correct voice how is that dishonest? reminds me of how he gets blamed for his sister wanting to renege on cutting herself out of their father's will, fortunately everyone seems to see through that charade
- defrost 2y agoThe statement linked, apparently quoting Johannson, states that Sam Altman himself contacted her nine months ago and requested her cooperation in using her voice. That was declined ... It appears they continued w/out her using a voice so close that close friends are unable to tell the two voices apart. "Accidently" indistinguishable is not a thing.
