Am I reading this right that I can't use my Apple Pencil 2 on a new iPad Air or Pro? I have to buy the new pencil? What?

  That does seem to be the case: https://www.apple.com/shop/select-apple-pencil https://www.apple.com/shop/select-apple-pencil I don't see any real reason to upgrade from my M1 iPad Pro anyway, but that's disappointing.

    That would also explain why retailers have been doing deep discounts on the current Pencil lately.

  Possibly because they have moved the front camera and the charging no longer works with the old pen.
