At least read some book before mixing two different terms. There is difference between 'consciousness' and 'chit'.

  'cit' is the term used for consciousness in eastern philosophy. There is no other word. cit is definitely consciousness, citta is not, it's a part of prakṛti. What you're probably referring to is citta. There's a difference between citta and pure consciousness.
