Aren’t all of these ARM chips? Why is compatibility such a big issue?
- astrange 2y agoIt isn't a big issue. But ARM doesn't have a universal boot loader/device discovery/etc standard like EFI/ACPI, so there is some more work to support them.
- jonmasters 2y agoArm servers do precisely have exactly that set of standards ((U)EFI/ACPI). See Arm SystemReady. You'll notice in the blog linked above that it mentions Arm SystemReady-VE, which uses those standards.
