Tell HN: Old.reddit.com seems to be blocked for VPN users
- hilux 2y agoNot for me, and I'm using a very mainstream VPN.
- vsnf 2y agoThis was the case for me yesterday as well, but as of an hour ago, using Mullvad (by way of Mozilla VPN), I am now blocked.
- mvid 2y agoAre you logged in? I’m not logged in
- hilux 2y agoI've tried it both ways - logged in to reddit, and not logged in. Either way, I can access old.reddit.com while VPN'd. Independent of your question, I've recently discovered that DNS settings (and VPN) can limit access to websites in very targeted and surprising ways. Perhaps try changing your DNS?
- scottydelta 2y agoI can verify this, it's getting blocked for me when browsing using my self-hosted VPN.
- JSDevOps 2y agoYes I can verify this. Rolled my own VPN not from a scareware VPN provider.
- millzlane 2y agoI've been getting blocked using a work VPN also accusing me of scraping them.
- throwaway598 2y agoGoodbye Reddit then.
- Wonnk13 2y agoI'm logged in to tailscale and can hit it just fine?
- radeeyate 2y agoAre you using an exit node?
- meiraleal 2y agoYes I'm blocked using Wireguard running on Amazon
- aborsy 2y agoAWS has been blocked for a while. VPN providers are usually, but not always, blocked. Oddly, Firefox sometimes evades the blockage, unlike chrome. Not sure why.
