It would be useful if the Everest routes had active base stations all the way up and down the route. They could form a mesh network and precisely locate every climbers on the way up and down the mountain. Put them in place at the beginning of each season. I'm aware that this dramatically changes the 'adventure' of climbing Everest but I don't care because if it saves one Sherpa or guide then I think it will have served its purpose
