Eminent domain is not theft. Landholders are compensated with fair market value.
- JohnFen 3y agoCompensating landowners doesn't mean it's not theft. If I broke into your house and stole all your stuff, but left a pile of cash of equal value, it's still stealing.
- elliotto 3y agoLand is different. Land rights are defined and protected by a government. A better example is if I gave you a tractor, then a few years later said actually I need that tractor back and gave you the value of what it's worth.
