What would you add to this list? use-package, hands down. my decades old rat's nest of a config actually became organized and emacs starts instantly now similarly, being able to configure emacs with a real programming language was a game changer compared to vim with vimscript. this is not so much an issue now with neovim, but i still prefer elisp :P
