Almost anybody using Smartsheet isn’t paying for the spreadsheet functionality. Otherwise they would just use the cloud version of Excel. Smartsheets value add is all of the eventing, reporting, and product management tools that are baked right into the spreadsheet. It’s like a crappier (but vastly cheaper) version of salesforce, qualtrix, asana, and tableau all in one beautiful data model. I say this as a former employee.
