When I was younger I joined "AGI" lab once, only to find out that I joined a GOFAI lab. That was rough. The CEO didn't believe in statistical learning because your system can only be as good as your data, and believed it wasn't actually "thinking" when you would interact with a DL system
- bunderbunder 3y ago"Thinking" is one of the most annoying words in AI. It has no clear, stable definition, and I think that that might actually be its entire point. If we ever settled on a concrete, operationalizable definition, that would bring a quick end to the arguments about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.
