To the extent any layoffs seem regretful with the benefit of hindsight, it’s in the trust & safety team, not among the engineers. (A lesson Silicon Valley noticed.) What isn’t working fine are Twitter’s financials. It remains cash-flow negative and looks increasingly likely to go into restructuring.
