The first data warehouse at Gitlab was postgres! It worked quite well until we started pulling Snowplow event data. I share some of the concerns of other commenters of having postgres do everything. Having a separation of concern around orchestration in particular seems wise. That said, getting something up and running using just pg makes sense and it's always possible to refractor.
