Ask HN: Managing Myopia as a Developer
How do you manage myopia with 8+ hours of screen time a day?
Especially in a confined space (small homes in Europe, or offices) with no views to infinity.
Any special lenses to simulate distance like rendering the computer as a TV screen across a living room? Or a distance box (containing a photograph and stimulated at 20m distance) like at the optometrists' eye test.
Has anyone tried Endmyopia?
- vhcr 3y agoI got PRK surgery.
- theriddlr 3y agoMe too (tomorrow), but it's addressing the symptom, not the cause. I'm at risk for open-angle glaucoma due to my long eyeballs.

- macilacilove 3y agoI work on such a project. It projects myopic defocus on the screen based on longitudinal chromatic aberration. The project is in pre-clinical stage. You can try it out at https://refractify.io/ https://refractify.io/ . It is aimed at recreating the visual myopic defocus signal that makes lens based myopia control techniques work. There are some promising results on animal myopia models.
