That’s awesome! Though, I think the headline underplays what he’s doing and done
Having a part-time job as a welder for a private company would be awesome and no doubt useful in a variety of ways. However, he’s not only helping his countries technical industry as an individual contributor, he’s also running a small business and educating quite a few future welders
Many public-private partnerships between academia and industry, that were far better resourced, have a accomplished far less
- bmicraft 3y agoThat's not awesome. He's paying his staff about 20% of what they're earning him and keeping the rest.
- freemanofthewan 3y agoWhen they bring nothing but unskilled labor to the table, how much do you feel they are entitled to? 50%? I would call that a partner and expect them to bring their own tools and skills. That is not the situation described here. So, how much should they receive?
- bmicraft 3y ago50% would probably be fair. Remember that he'd be keeping 50% _per employee_, which means he still makes 10x compared to them.
