How can you consider yourself to have won the game when you clearly describe being unhappy with life? Maybe introspect a bit and consider some change.
- questinthrow 3y agoYou might imply that I am unhappy because I say theres nothing worth it. However unhappiness only exists if you want something to be worth it and are disappointed by its nonexistence, you can be at peace with meaninglessness as long as you let go of desire

However, it's also a common reaction to the parent's opinion. It's a form of defensiveness where there was no attack, because the topic is so tightly linked to ten-million-year-old emotions.
- happytoexplain 3y agoI don't see an implication that the parent is overall unhappy. I think responses like yours are frequently defensive when it comes to this particular topic.
