Your game just told me "Ponzi" isn't a word. I feel like Wordle wouldn't have done that, and anyway at least it has the courtesy to say "not in word list" which is very different from the outright lie that your game just told me.
- jerpint 3y agoI don’t think the game is trying to lie to you, rather the implementation hasn’t been polished yet, no need to be so harsh
- Kiro 3y agoWordle doesn't accept "ponzi" either. It's also not a valid word in Scrabble.
- binarymax 3y agoLots of word game dictionaries don’t contain proper nouns. Ponzi is an interesting example because it’s now used as the definitive for what it is, so words like that are hit or miss. Other examples that might or might not be in dictionaries are Kleenex, Xerox, etc.
- b0r0phyll 3y agoI can change the verbiage to say "not in word list", but FYI it's using the same word list as Wordle so Ponzi would not be accepted there either.
- tapland 3y agoYes it would: https://wordledictionary.com/results?find=_____&has=i,n,o,p,z¬= https://wordledictionary.com/results?find=_____&has=i,n,o,p,... Ponzi is a surname, and not included in Wordle.
