I’ll admit that my company posts jobs to show strength to customers, partners, and competitors despite not actively hiring. My rationale is that if people actually cared enough to reach out to me personally (we are tiny startup) I would respond honestly. And yes, if the perfect person came around I would hire them on the spot.
