I would say Androids are as secure as iOS, maybe not as private. Regardless, I have seen the majority of iPhone users use apps such as Instagram, so I don't think privacy plays a big part in their decision when buying a device. Also, don't equate Google and Huawei together, one collects data to sell you ads, whereas the other is a state sponsored spy organisation.
