I think there is one other unaccounted aspect that the article doesn't acknowledge. I've never seen a SRE lead go to prison for an outage, but as of late a few CISOs have been charged, convicted, and sentenced to prison for failings on their watch. Cybersecurity may not be special but the results of a failing there are unique compared to SRE work.
