Ylva Johansson, the EU commissioner who proposed that (apparently failing [1]) law, has used Meta’s model behaviour in reporting CSAM material to NCMEC & EU authorities as the justification for why that law should exist. Considering it was Meta’s policy to scan even when not mandated, it seems like an internal shift in attitude.
