Ask HN: Why is ChatGPT using 100% of my CPU?
Title says it all. It's becoming borderline unusable. Anyone experienced this? What's the culprit?
- rvz 3y agoAsk ChatGPT the same question? It might provide you the answer since apparently according to the AI maximalists it is so clever that it knows everything. Can never go wrong.
- RGamma 3y agoYep, noticed this too. Also, it doesn't autoscroll properly on Firefox, but that's nothing new.
- drschlachter 3y agoI'm experiencing the same thing... it's basically taken over my whole system. I've been trying to kill VSCode plugins and change browsers thinking that was the issue but my CPU spikes only when I have chatGPT up.

- suby 3y agoI've noticed this too. 100% CPU usage, laptop temperature skyrockets and fans kick on
