The biggest question I have is why does it take 47 years to upgrade trains in one of the richest cities in one of the richest countries in the world?

- LAC-Tech 3y agoHaven't you seen 'Yes, Minister'? But in all seriousness I can't imagine all the layers of un-elected, unaccountable bureaucratic petty power centres a mere elected official would have to navigate to get anything done in London. It's the same in all westminster democracies - I'm from New Zealand and it's projected to take 10 years to make a 3.5km/2.2mi underground rail tunnel in our largest city. Let's be optimistic and say it's only 4 years late - that'd be a bit over half a yard/metre of tunnel per day.
