I definitely felt this on a recent trip to Tokyo. Instinctively I'd walk up to a counter to order my meal but then would be pointed to a large touch screen at the entrance of the restaurant. A similar experience in my hotel lobby lounge, where upon entering I was greeted with a drinks menu on an ipad. I politely refused and walked over to the bar to order, only to be shown another ipad.
