Reddit finally takes its API war where it belongs: To AI companies
- cyanydeez 3y agoAI companies are gonna just scrape. The API Could have been locked down to reasonable individual use.
- skyyler 3y agoDid anyone else stop using reddit in June? Life has been nice. I didn't realise how much the arguments there shaped my opinion of things until I stopped.
- extasia 3y agoTangentially I quit yt a month ago and had a similar experience.
- bravetraveler 3y agoI did! I wasn't that invested in the whole situation. It just made me take stock and realize I'm better off doing almost any of my other interests.
- Sohcahtoa82 3y agoI patched my BaconReader to work despite the API change.
- skyyler 3y agoI saw that I could do that with apollo, after the habit was changed. I haven't really bothered. Telegram has been a fantastic replacement. I'm connecting to human beings instead of posts now.
- HHC-Hunter 3y agoI stopped reading reddit over two years ago noticing how over politicised it was becoming. Slowly choking the life out of any decent conversation.
- gardenhedge 3y agoI stopped then too. I've also stopped using Twitter/X, FB, Insta and all walled gardens really.
- the_g0d_f4ther 3y agobesides some gems i usually found in sports threads i really don’t miss it at all
- hellotheretoday 3y agoSimilar experience. I’m less anxious since leaving Reddit and it’s very nice. It was the last major social network I was on. I read a lot more now. This is all I use now
