nailed it. i have been part of 3 hype-trains - dot-com, cloud, and now ai. missed w3/crypto. but, i havent such hype-trains in other parts of us/world.

- emmender1 3y agono, but in other parts of the world, there is no sense that you will imminently a) change the world with some doodad gadget or b) be a millionaire by picking up a startup lottery ticket.

- duckmysick 3y agoThe first two moved past the hype and became commonplace, if not mundane. I guess in a decade or two there will be things using web3 principles in a boring way.
- majani 3y agoThere was the SoLoMo (Social, Local, Mobile) hype train of the late 2000s which indeed came to take over the world as promised. Also the B2B SaaS hype train that Basecamp started in the mid 2010s has taken over as well
