  If I understand correctly, both of those technologies use quantum dots to increase brightness. The difference is that QD-OLED also increases contrast since there is no backlight, and the pixels themselves emit the light.

    The oled is the backlight for blue light.

  “QLED” should have been called “QD-LCD” The “LED” comes from “LCD with LED backlight” but they all have that.
