Show HN: If ChatGPT is WhatsApp, we created its Telegram version. Privacy First
- KomoD 3y agoThat doesn't make sense, how is it more private than ChatGPT if it's quite literally using the GPT-3/3.5/4 models which is hosted by OpenAI?
- patokekar 3y agoImagine GPT 3.5/4 being a sort of black boxes. If you use them via API keys, you are just using their LLM service and they do not store inputs / outputs in any database. (https://openai.com/enterprise-privacy#our-commitments https://openai.com/enterprise-privacy#our-commitments) But if you use there interface of ChatGPT, they store both inputs as well as outputs and use it to train their models.
- KomoD 3y ago> they do not store inputs / outputs in any database. Wrong, they do store, and it's certainly not private, and might even be looked at by a human > Business data is only subject to human review as described below on a service-by-service basis.
- patokekar 3y agoFor API calls they only will look at if any government entity asks them to do so. And that too for only last 30 days. Please correct me if I am wrong and point me to the exact place where they mention it. "We do not train on your data from ChatGPT Enterprise or our API Platform" This is exact sentence from their privacy policy page.
- KomoD 3y agoYou said "they do not store inputs / outputs in any database", I disproved it, and you even admit they do in this message. It's not private and it's not "complete control over your data"
