(2) The best arrangement of solar cells is always going to be a single tracking array on top of a hill. But, as costs drop the advantage of a tracking system needs to be balanced vs just adding more cells. Using solar cells in the far north is generally a bad idea, but there are applications where it's useful. EX: Really remote stations that people vary rarely visit.

This was in Northern Ontario.
