The title definitely seems like a strawman, but it is the best use of a strawman that I've seen in an academic article: an outrageous and amusing title that makes me want to read the paper! (The rest of the article seems much more defensible to me: well-written without quite verging into strawman territory. But I'm no expert in the field.)
