Because these are most common materials used for building houses, (in CZ). And wanted to distinguish I don't mean classic house made of classic bricks. In Australia, generically (without being specific) "blocks", "Masonry Blocks", "CMUs", or "Concrete Masonry Unit", "Cinder Block".
