Ask HN: What should I put in the TOS for my internet forum?
I built an internet forum and it's been running for a couple years, but I've never had a terms of service page (only privacy policy). I want to put a TOS page up now. What would you like to see in it? I want it to be as user friendly as possible.
- brudgers 3y agoWhy? If it's your internet forum, run it as you see fit. It will mitigate the time waste that is jailhouse lawyer threads. If it matters, hire a lawyer because terms of service is a legal document. Good luck.
- night-rider 3y agoCopy the terms from a Mastodon instance. They're usually pretty exhaustive. Things like no hate speech, no NSFW material (unless your community tolerates that), no harassment, no doxxing etc
