Depending on how much of their usage is driven by the free public ChatGPT version, I wouldn't be surprised if they could close the loss gap if they switched to paid only. I believe enough people are hooked on it that any one of them would be willing to fork out a few bucks a month.
- TillE 3y agoAs in every other online service market, that's a really hard sell if your competitors (eg, Bard) remain free. I think giant companies won't mind burning cash for at least a few years while they figure this stuff out.
