100% agree. Am a consultant, and its frightening how many FTE's of my client, don't know what business their employer is engaged in. They aren't even beginning to learn the business vocabulary.
They are all frogs in the Terraform pond.
- beezlewax 3y agoIsn't this partially the fault of their employer and product owners - who like to keep the business stuff sandboxed to some degree?
- randysalami 3y agoYeah I’ve had a lot of success in consulting driving the importance of understanding the domain. Some clients have very complex business processes and if you don’t model the domain properly, you can’t even begin to have discussions of development. However, my consulting team doesn’t have many technical members so that could be the cause.
