This will probably not work for everyone, but works pretty well for me. I simply use the "default" Mac OS/iOS apps: - Photos (shared via iCloud) - Notes - Music - iCloud for file storage - I also use google docs for spreadsheets etc. This pretty much covers my digital life and mostly meet my requirement to be on auto-pilot.
