I strongly recommend installing Spectacle for Mac, which does window snapping with a hotkey. Apparently it's no longer maintained but works perfectly fine righ

I strongly recommend installing Spectacle for Mac, which does window snapping with a hotkey. Apparently it's no longer maintained but works perfectly fine right now, and there are alternatives i haven't tried, like Rectangle.
