This is very well done! Can you talk about your motivation and how it works?

  Absolutely - thank you for the kind words! I'm a father of 2 young kids & I love building side projects. So about a year ago, started working on this site to solve my own problem, which was finding things to do with my kids on the weekends. When I searched on GoogleMaps & Yelp, it would only give me results by places. But I wanted to search all activities in a particular location (city, county). So in the searchbar, if you type in your zipcode/city/county - you can see all "Places" or "Photos" in that location. And then just filter down by Category (e.g. Indoor Playcenters, Swimming Pools, Parks, etc). I felt like this was a much cleaner & simpler experience to discover kids activities. Hopefully it's helpful to other parents out there as well. As for Tech Stack, I just built it with Plain Vanilla HTML + CSS + PHP + SQL.

Interesting, but would love that you make it clear in the title it’s only in the US, the world is much bigger than the US to assume everyone’s living there.

  Thanks for the feedback. Fair point, I eventually want to expand Globally but just started with the US.

Thanks for this. Tried it out for my zip code (which is pretty small) and didn't see a whole lot. Would love to have a radius option (10, 25, 50 miles, etc) so we could see activities around the area. Could be very useful for planning a trip.

    That's a great idea! Having a "show map" button will be very helpful. What I mean by that is to browse activities close to where I live, but in a map format. I'm not too sure, but maybe in the future, Twkids could evolve into "Groupon for family activities." In addition to being a search tool, businesses can offer exclusive deals to people searching for family activities.

      Love it - awesome idea! Was also thinking of allowing businesses to post Events as well.
