Show HN: Simple TODO with tag based filtering
A custom app I made quickly to better represent how I work. I have 1 long list of tasks from different projects I can easily see any time. Throughout the day I focus on the different projects by filtering them through tags.
Does anyone else manage multiple projects like me? What do you use to focus on the different projects?
- quickthrower2 3y agoI like Microsoft TODO because you can have lists, due dates and planned date. I can use it as a source of truth across work and home stuff to avoid checking 2 places.
- randomluck040 3y agoThat’s what I’m stuck with as well. I wish I could get my due and planned dates into a Google or iCloud calendar but it unfortunately doesn’t work that way. What does not work as well is using Google keep because it’s not as good as TODO.
- willpotato 3y agoI remember todoist has 2 way sync with Google calendar. Have you tried it?
- Leftium 3y agoI like Taskpaper-style tags with values like `@done(2023-05-04)`. Unfortunately the only good Taskpaper client is on Mac: no decent Windows/web/mobile clients. Someday, I'll get my PIM built... it will be a cross between TaskPaper, nvAlt, SimpleNote, and Drafts app. Right now, I mostly use SimpleNote (just for keeping notes across devices; not so much for tasks)
- willpotato 3y agoO, I’ve never heard of TaskPaper. Looks nice! Why the cross between so many apps?
- Leftium 3y agoJust picking and choosing the best features from my favorite apps: - TaskPaper tags are nice, but isn't multi-platform. - I like search+creation UX of nvAlt (explained well on: https://notational.net/ https://notational.net/), but no decent non-mac clients. Also non-plaintext richtext gets in the way. - I use SimpleNote because it's multiplatform, but the tags are hard to use. Also somethings like inter-note tags are just a distraction for me (I prefer just being able to type brackets []). - Drafts probably has the best plaintext editing experience, especially on mobile. Also the actions are very powerful. My app will combine tasks + notes + bookmarks. I've been making prototypes of subsets of the features, like: - https://multi-launch.leftium.com/ https://multi-launch.leftium.com/ - https://instant.leftium.com/ https://instant.leftium.com/ - https://todo-taskpaper.leftium.com/ https://todo-taskpaper.leftium.com/ - https://plaintext-press.leftium.com/https://www.dropbox.com/s/1g5qrmfinno8a5j/patagonia.taskpaper https://plaintext-press.leftium.com/https://www.dropbox.com/... - https://github.com/Leftium/todo.html https://github.com/Leftium/todo.html
- tem-tem 3y agoLooks like it was not intended for mobile? Everything looks shrunk on iPhone
- willpotato 3y agoyou’re right… I didn’t even consider that OTZ
