I'm also on the hiring side of this. I follow the process the company gives me. Honestly speaking, 70% of the candidates can do the job, but I fail 90% because they can't pass the coding question. It's a filter with a serious problem. Yeah it's all we got, but that filter rate justifies a big discussion because it's crazy.
