Zion Climbing in the 1930s
- oesexe 3y agoSuch an amazing read!
- nickybuzz 3y agoCool read, mountain climbing has always amazed me. Zion is awesome too.
- wetmore 3y agoWe climbers are lucky to have people like John who are both deeply interested in climbing history as well as experienced in pushing the leading edge themselves.
- dieselgate 3y agoJeez it just gives me chills how the print style looks so dramatically aged but the Zion canyon walls look as fresh as ever. Such a special place for so many.. will leave it at that!
- hammock 3y agoThe Zion canyon walls are hundreds of millions of years old, they change in a 80 year span but not as much as print technology :)
- ubermonkey 3y agoIn a weird bit of synchronicity, last week I was in Zion, on a bus tour with my octogenarian mother, and one of the activities was a presentation about the history of climbing in Zion.
- johnMiddendorf 3y agoThanks for the post here. It brought 3000 hits to my work, pretty much double my weekly reads. Just posted two more on the famous Mount Waddington in Canada. Bigwallgear.com has the index to my climbing research work. Cheers John Middendorf
