- tstrimple 3y agoChina set conditions for those apps to operate within their nation. The companies which own the apps declined to jump through the hoops for the apps which aren't in available China. China didn't specifically ban any of these US apps. TikTok in China operates quite a bit differently than in the US because the US doesn't have laws protecting children from social media abuse the way China does.
