So if you're looking for a sports alternative, https://plaintextsports.com https://plaintextsports.com (which I made) works great! All the scores, play-by-play, box scores, standings, and schedules, but just no news stories. Blazing fast. (No, it's not technically "Content-Type: text/plain", it uses HTML and CSS.
