I've read this many times on HN, Reddit, etc. Last week I just used a VPN. Took 30 seconds to click-click unsubscribe.
PS - During the process I was offered like 60% off if I kept the subscription.
- brewdad 3y agoNYTimes changed their policy sometime during the Covid years. I canceled back in 2017-18 and can confirm that it took me talking over the phone rep repeatedly saying nothing but "Cancel." for them to stop the retention spiel and finally close my account.
