I got tired of seeing notices to "contact your senator" on Wikipedia/Craigslist etc and sent a note to Senator Feinstein. To my surprise someone from her office actually responded. My response was pretty similar to Joel's. Its easy to kvetch on your favorite Internet forum, but if you get things started your Congressional reps will listen. This is way easier than cold-calling a customer!
