They hire people who specialize in fundraising and people who specialize in reaching whatever community they support. It’s not the same people and the fundraising teams are fairly slim
- ghaff 4y agoIt depends I guess. Yes, a lot or organizations will have a position like head of development (or a development office at scale) i.e. fundraising, but a lot of people who are ostensibly about the organization's mission--the artistic director of a theater company, the president of a university, the executive director of an organization with conservation properties, etc.--absolutely have fundraising as a key metric of their success.
