D&D is apparently very hard to write about. This writer somehow does it.
I hate, with a burning hate, original AD&D's insanely complex, contradictory, obviously-never-playtested rules that even the authors often couldn't explain in the Dragon Magazine later on.
Fun game though.

- drewcoo 4y agoThe rules lawyer is a stereotype that never quite translated into typical CRPGs any more than the thespian did. And those roles existed in all RPGs and often other gamer geek games back then. I miss those days. When I've tried tabletop role playing a couple of times in recent years it was all munchkining all the time. About as un-fun as CRPGs but slower and more annoying.
