- dspillett 4y agoAnd I'd go the other way. We both get to do things the way we want without getting in each others way. The system works! [UK here, where I feel we are slipping slowly but relentlessly towards the worst parts of the American Way in many areas including this one]
- throw47274955 4y agoI typically use a credit card but on principle, I avoid places that don't accept cash. There are many less fortunate people that can't get a credit or debit card and I don't want to support practices that hurt them even more.

- dsr_ 4y agoNo fixed address. Not enough spare money to maintain a bank account. No desire for a high-fee credit card, no access to a low-fee credit card. No acceptable documentation.
- kwhitefoot 4y agoInteresting. The second one strikes me as odd. I have never paid any fees for a current account unless it went into the red, not in the UK nor in Norway. And a debit card is free in Norway and the UK.

- WirelessGigabit 4y agoCapital one has free checking. So that's no problem. Cash costs money too. We always talk about the cost of credit cards but always forget the cost of dealing with cash. I'm super happy with all this modernization. I only need to carry an Apple Watch, not even my phone. I love it.
