I have for some time suspected that I was somehow sensitive to artificial sweeteners, so I have largely stopped consuming them. I don't have a good description of what happens, but something is off either the next day or the day after, if I drink a large bottle of Pepsi Max for example.
- nullish_signal 4y agoA family member and I noticed similar slight odd feelings from the sweetener Erythritol Now, I try to look to minimize ingredients/processing, minimize added sugar, avoiding anything branded as "no/low sugar, no/low fat, no/low carbs". Looking to maximize protein, but avoiding every "keto" label like a gilded plague But damn if a big fat Costco Frozen Pizza with an essay of an ingredients list doesn't hit the spot every time A real struggle xD
- devwastaken 4y agoSoda in any form is a diarrhetic and causes dehydration. It's not good for the body in any amount, much less in large bottles. That said, as a long time drinker of sodie pop, my body appears to expect the sugar. Having non caloric sweeteners after a while is like that feeling of dieting where the body wants to return to it's normal. I look at it as a good thing. I shouldn't be drinking it, and if I'm going to I'd rather not contribute to diabetes in my older future.
