As usual whenever reading articles about FTX recently, the reporting is very sympathetic and unquestioning.
Two particular things struck me:
• the company is always portrayed as a legitimate concern: "He grew the company into a $32 billion business"
• the very sympathetic little vignette about the "low-to-moderate-income adults" that were inducted to a course to help them 'invest' in cryptocurrency to "build savings" [gulp], and which were 'bailed-out' by SBF when it all went wrong:
> “They wired money in for us to be able to take care of students,” Mr. Sanon said. He declined to specify the amount that the organization received, but he said it was “substantial and very kind.”
"very kind" - but actually this money is simply stolen funds from other people.
Such useless journalism.
