- tdeck 4y agoThere are countries with cheaper labor now than China; it seems like a large part of the appeal is having such a robust supply chain for everything you need nearby. That will be harder to replicate, although Apple has the resources.
- hanafudafan 4y agoIt doesn't get cheaper than Uiygur slaves. It's impossible. Edit: Weeeger? Huioghur?
- innagadadavida 4y agoThis is still nothing compared to the slavery in America - we kidnapped people, tortured them and literally bred them so the cotton industry could flourish. If this is what it takes for a country to become a superpower, China is well in its way.
- jjtheblunt 4y agoIs it more accurate to say: Britain and Netherlands kidnapped people, but somehow through incredible PR pretend they didn't start the slave trade, then sold them in the Americas, where the treatment continued to be disgustingly abhorrent.
- hanafudafan 4y agoWho owned the slave ships?
- engineer_22 4y agoLet's not have a d**-measuring contest over who's slavery is bigger here....
